The Alberni Clayoquot Regional District’s Level One Emergency Operations Centre continues to provide support for the Forest Service, in their response to the Dog Mountain Forest Fire at Sproat Lake.

The declaration to enable the evacuation of Dog Mountain including the cabins, cottages and the fire scene remains in effect. Citizens are asked to stay clear of the fire. The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with Island Health has issued a health advisory. A Wildfire Smoke Advisory has been issued for the east and south coast of Vancouver Island. Includes, from Campbell River to Victoria, in addition to the Alberni Valley. This situation is expected to persist until meteorological conditions change.
